Choices, companions, character arcs, main plot are all still there. The RPG elements aren't as strong but it definitely isn't a Borderlands or Bioshock game. People said it lacks everything except for combat from the previous fallouts, if it's just a shooter and not an RPG it won't hold my attention, and I could play an actual RPG instead. The DLC for New Vegas was really good, so maybe if I'm going to get a newer Fallout game, I should just buy all the DLC while it's on sale so I can play the whole enchilada. It's $5, I liked 3 and NV, and even if this isn't as much RPG, it'll still have that good Fallout mojo and make me happy to play it.ī) Spring for $10 for the Fallout 4 GOTY edition. I don't object to games that are more shooty than RPG, like Borderlands or Bioshock, but certainly my love for the Fallout series comes from the RPG side and not the combat side. So, I'm primarily an RPG player, and I've heard very mixed reviews of Fallout 4. EDIT: Well, sounds like the collected wisdom is mostly to go for it, and I don't want to miss out on this really good sale, so I bought it.
